1940 Cadillac Fleetwood V8 Description: 1940 Cadillac Fleetwood Model 75 Convertible Sedan is the last year for Cadillac to have side mounted tires and running boards. It is a beautiful older restoration that still shows quite well and runs well. Powered by a 135 hp./346 ci. flathead Cadillac V8 with a 3-speed manual tranmission and rides on a 141-inch wheelbase chassis. It is a five-passenger limousine style body with a rollup divider window between the rear and front seats. The three position convertible top can be in a fully closed position, opened just over the front seat or be in a completely down position. There is a boot to cover the top in a completely down position. Nine hundred seventy-five Series 75 cars were built but only 45 were convertibles. I have been told only 7 or 8 are still in existence. only 5000 miles on it since it was rebuilt. The engine is clean but not enameled. At idle speed the engine can hardly be heard. With radial tires and a high-speed gear ratio in the differential, the car drives and holds the road well on the freeway at 60 MPH. With large diameter brake drums that are hydraulically actuated, the car can be stopped easily from high speed. Can is most likely the original Beaver Brown paint with some flaws which are to be found in an original paint finish. <P> Financing, and shipping available. Fair offers are always entertained.
